Laura Moody – Call This Time Love
Release Date: 23rd March 2015
Label: Surbiton Lagoon
A wildly alternative cellist and vocalist, Laura’s music pushes boundaries while exploring the seemingly infinite possibilities of her instrument – creating uniquely emotive songs that traverse both her left-field classical background and singer-songwriter work.
This is music that defies categorisation.
Laura is a long-standing member of the Elysian Quartet, known for their pioneering performances and experimental recordings of contemporary classical, and has toured extensively as a member of physical theatre string ensemble The Gogmagogs and the Meredith Monk Ensemble. Artists she has worked and performed with include Aphex Twin, Antony and the Johnsons, David Sylvian, Kate Tempest, Hot Chip, The xx, Anna Calvi, and Imogen Heap.
Released in November 2014, Laura’s debut album “Acrobats” received major critical plaudits (Uncut, DiS, Daily Telegraph, Louder Than War) and Call This Time Love provides a perfect taster – recently rousing the seated and somnambulant audience at Sofar Sounds into a standing ovation.
