Returning once again to Damaged Goods Records is Helen Love, who this time has joined forces with Ricardo Autobahn to bring bring you a Christmas single before heading back to Elefant for their forthcoming album in 2013.
We’ve also been hearing rumours that Helen Love will be performing at a couple of shows next year, including some festival appearances too!
Helen Love was formed in Wales in 1992 and shortly after, the band released 9 singles on Damaged Goods (plus a couple of compilations) before signing to Che Records for their debut album. In recent years the group have released some great albums on the Spanish label Elefant.
‘And the Salvation Army Band Plays‘ is, in the long-standing tradition of Helen Love Christmas tracks, a bit depressing but in a fun way, especially the ‘Disco Mix’.
So, just who is Ricardo Autobahn then?…
Well, he is a member of the legendary band The Cuban Boys, who were one of John Peel‘s favourite bands and had a single on Damaged Goods back in 2000 with EMI as well as the top 5 hit Cognoscenti Vs. Intelligentsia (or The Hamster Dance song as it’s better known). Ricardo is also part of Rikki And Daz who hit the top 20 with Rhinestone Cowboy, which actually featured Glen Campbell on it and in the video too.
