Returning to 3am Recordings after his superbly received remix of Joe Morris’ “Yello Haze” back on TAM069, is Miami based DJ/producer Didier Morris, whose recent work for labels such as Midnight Social, Static Audio, Stranjjur & Sleazy Deep has led to Didier being picked up by none other than the rather large Southern Fried imprint for a forthcoming release, a few months from now.
On “Into the Future“, Didier shows a real flair for cleverly crafted beats; “The Key To My Soul” is a nagging, rolling vibe, which despite its laid back feel really packs a punch on the floor – perfect for laying down a deep mood & getting the hips grooving on the foors. “You Can Find Me” takes things up a notch & heads for a more direct stabby vibe, which builds throughout the track, with the bass adding some real ooomph.
Three new faces on 3am Recordings are responsible for providing the remixes in this package, all of whom have provided totally different interpretations on their respective versions. First up is Portugese producer Tiago Mendes, aka Audiosoul, who has previously recorded for Phobic Records, Dirty Monkey, Sculpture & Lepento. His remix for 3am totally rebuilds “The Key To My Soul” into a pumping & driving guitar-tinged groove, a real tough vibe. Next up is Dublin based Ciara Cunnane, whose remix has echoes of the original but totally reworked into a more four-to-the-floor deep percussive vibe. The final remix comes from Evo Music’s main-man Andy Lemac, who turns in a wicked rolling stabby version of “You Can Find Me“, reworking the vocals & turning out a fantastic deep house gem. Andy has previously worked with Stab Recordings, Selected Recordings & Remote Records, with forthcoming projects on Systamatik Music due soon.
Look out for a mini-album from Didier on 3am Recordings in 2013, as part of the label’s 10th birthday celebrations.
